They should make a Savage Empire movie. They should make a Savage Empire movie. It has been way too long since One Million Years BC came out. There hasn't been a good prehistoric movie since 1966. That's too long.

So who should play Aiela and Tristia? I think that Megan Fox would be a good Tristia. She looks sexy and dangerous. And nerds really like her and they like Savage Empire, too.

So Megan Fox is Tristia.

Aiela should be that brown haired girl from Gossip Girl. They kind of look alike, and that girl has a sweet face that suits Aiela's kind and loving personality. In this picture, you can kind of imagine her in Aiela's heavy-metal-style mullet, can't you?

So Leighton Meester is Aiela.

Now who should play the Avatar? And Jimmy??? And Professor Rafkin!?? They need to get Sean Connery to do that. He is elderly.

Savage Empire landscape

Have you ever been anywhere on vacation and thought about Savage Empire? Sometimes I go somewhere and the landscape really reminds me of the Ultima game. Today, I was taking a walk and there was this clearing near the edge of a pond that reminded me so much of that part in the game where you're trying to get the rock to fall on the T-Rex and you're on the cliff overlooking that T-Rex, with all the foliage.

What SA Ultima Tribe would you be?

If you could be any tribe on Ultima II Savage Empire, what tribe would you be? I would be part of the Kurak tribe because I like Intanya a lot, but I also like the Pindiro tribe because they're the most peaceful tribe and they join the avatar without even making him complete the quests.

If you could be any character from any Ultima game, what character would you be?

How do get Fabozz into the light?

Darden is the large man who kidnapped Aiela from the Kurak tribe. Darden became leader of the Urali tribe by stealing their special statue, Fabozz, and putting Fabozz in a cave. If you get Fabozz out, the Urali will unite with you, you'll find Aiela easily, and the Urali will stop shooting at you with poison darts.

The Great Fabozz is this statue hidden in a cave that you have to bring out of the cave and into the light for the Urali tribe. The Great Fabozz is this glowing-eyed spiritual atatue thing that is unhappy without any light. You can't move it or drag it anywhere, so the solution is to being light into the dark cave.

The way we did it was to use Jimmy's camera flash in front of the statue. Burning magnesium also makes light. There's supposed to be one more way, so if you found the other way to bring light to Fabozz, let me know.

The Urali tribespeople say "all our best and brightest have tried and failed" and that's kind of a hint about the camera, letting you know that it's something modern that will finally free Fabozz. Once he's free, the annoying Urali will quit shooting their poisonous blow-darts at you.

Also, Fabozz has nice eyes.

Disquiqui Tribe: Three Stooges, Pulque, and Guoblum

The Three Stooges are in Savage Empire as members of the Disquiqui tribe. When I was little and regularly playing this game, I had never heard of The Three Stooges I didn't get this when I was a kid, but if you say "Nyuk" to Chafblum, you get a response. You also get a response if you say "Stooge". I haven't gotten a chance to try it recently, but I learned about it from Savage Empire's Wikipedia page. For young people who don't know, The Three Stooges are these three balding comedian guys and "Nyuk Nyuk Nyuk" was the sound of this one guy called Curly, laughing.

The manual says the following about the Disquiqui tribe: "Considered irresponsible and annoying by many of the other tribes, the Disquiqui tend to be happy, musical, and rather notoriously amorous." One of the best parts in the whole game was the Disquiqui tribe, from the Three Stooges, to Guoblum, to Pulque (the drink that makes you blind), to finding Jimmy Malone. The Disquiqui tribes is awesome. This is a Disquiqui man talking about Pulque.

Sahree from the Yolaru tribe was pretty hot. She wasn't really into drama as much as Tristia, and she was kind of even prettier than Aiela. She didn't have hair like a heavy metal guitarist, for one. Sahree is "a beautiful warrior-woman with a bold look in her eye."

I think it's kind of cool how she always wished you well with a pleasant "Spirits protect you, Avatar." Sahree was one of the better characters in Savage Empire. She's also Aiela's best friend.

You know you love the music from Savage Empire. Who doesn't want to chill while listening to "nightime" (that music they play while you sleep, pref with a display saying "Avatar has food, Aiela has food, Triolo has food, Rafin has food" It's all good...) or "echoes and gekkos" (that song they play when everything is going well) on Savage Empire.

Who doesn't want to get all riled up to "Ant Tunnels" or even better, "Something To The East"? Don't you wish Savage Empire music was available in ringtones? You know it.

Savage Empire Ultima 2 Fan Fiction

Fan Fiction is what happens when somebody gets way too into a movie or a game and become an ultimate nerd by writing an imaginary story based on the lives of the characters in the computer game. I am here to tell you that there is no such thing as being too into a computer game if that game happens to be Savage Empire.

This awesome savage Empire nerd who calls him/herself BLUECLAW wrote fan fiction based on Jimmy Malone from Savage Empire!! This is the most amazing piece of news I've heard in a long time. The story is called "The journalist and the Sea" and it's full of unprecedented nerdiness and lines like, "“Where’s Mulder and Scully when you need ‘em?” Jimmy whispered to himself." The story finds Jimmy Malone in hard times. Here is an excerpt:

"Jimmy’s story had been top selling news for a number of months, gaining him many an interview with personages such as Letterman and O’Brien - he’d even been offered to star in a movie called ‘Savage Empire’ - but as with all great stories, it had faded into mediocrity with the inevitable passing of time, eventually winking out of existence entirely. The scientific community spoke only silence as to the progress of efforts in reaching Eodon. With the adventure’s novelty faded Jimmy’s fame and good fortune."

It is like a thousand chapters long and must have taken more than a year to write. It['s also written by someone with an excellent vocabulary, AKA someone who isn't a little kid. The story features the wisp, Jimmy's love life, Rafkin, pirates, and gargoyles. It will take you about an hour to read it. No joke. Other Ultima Fan Fiction is equally nerd-core and I promise you will either love it or be amazed that an adult could want to write so much about a computer game.

Come to me, my curs. Come to your deaths. he brooded morbidly.
That is an actual line in this golden piece of writing.

The only complaint I have is why he chose to write about Jimmy Malone, the lamest character in Savage Empire. I'd even rather have had him write about Rafkin, even though that would be boring as hell to read. If you want to read a whole NOVEL about Jimmy Malone post-Savage Empire, this is your best bet.

What if you're playing Savage Empire and you decide you love Tristia and can't help it? At the end, you get to choose who you love better, Aiela or Tristia or neither. If you choose Aiela, which you shoudl, she'll say she loves you forever and will ask to come with you, but you won't let her because she has to stay in her world. If you choose Tristia, she gets all lame and tells you she's been cheating anyway. She says "Tristia does not mind," she says. "Tristia has found another love: handsome Botorok. Botorok is so much better than you. Go with your chief. Go." Plus, she's not that hot, and she talks about herself in the third person. You could never really love someone who did that. You know you couldn't.

If you're bored of trying to unite the tribes and complete quests, here are some fun things you can do.

Savage Empire Home Decorating
One is called "Savage Empire Home Decorating" and it basically means that you go around the village collecting all the prettiest or coolest rugs and furniture items. Then you go to a house, lock the door, and start decorating. Fold the rug up in the corner. Does it look nicer there or unfolded on the floor? You choose. Do the diamonds look better on display, or hidden in a clay pot? Are you going for African decor, or a more South American look? Just be careful, because when you let people into your newly decorated home, they will sleep wherever they want, and they will take your decorations. If they steal your decorations, here's another fun game to play.

Savage Empire Village Massacre
This game is self explanatory. See how many people you can attack without getting attacked back. It's more satisfying to play it with one of your other characters, not your avatar. If you do it as, say, Triolo, you can pretend it's like a surprise for the villagers, like one of their own has gone insane. If you do it as your avatar, it's kind of a dick move because you're like a foreigner coming into a village to kill. Not cool. Be Triolo or like, Dokray.

Savage Wild Rapid Ride
Who doesn't like making a raft and rafting with your four best buddies? To sail on a raft and make fantasy a reality, you need three members besides yourself in your party, and each of those members needs a paddle. The Disquiqui are the ones who make the paddles, and you can find rafts near Topuru's island.

Lock up as many people as possible in one room
Enough said.

I didn't know this, but Savage Empire is also available in a Japanese version. It looks awesome. The avatar looks better, and kind of has a mullet-y hairdo.

You know that part at the beginning where you get to choose a name for the avatar and answer questions about his character? One of the questions is this one:

You fight a warrior you hate, and knock his spear from his hands.
Another blow and he will be dead.
Will you (a) let him surrender, and spare him if he does, or (b) slay him where he stands?

In this question, always choose (b) slay him where he stands.
This shows you're not a wuss.

Jimmy Malone : A news reporter

Jimmy looks like that guy Rolf, from the Sound of Music. Rolf is the guy Liesel made out with in the gazebo in the rain. Rolf sucks because he became a Nazi at the end and was all, "Lieutenant, they're here!!" and totally gave away Maria's hiding spot at the Abbey. But that's okay, because the nuns already took their cars apart and the Von Trapp family singers escaped into the hills.

Jimmy Malone is one of the first characters you meet in Savage Empire. In the intro, it says "Jimmy Malone. Malone's a little too nosy to suit you..." and by 'nosy' they just mean annoying. The only reason you would ever want him in your party is because he carries a notebook with him and writes things you need to do in it. In this age of global warming, it's nice not to have to use paper to write down quests yourself.

Hottest Girl in Eodon: Aiela or Tristia?

Aiela
Aiela is the girl you're supposed to love. She loves you. Aiela is part of the Kurak tribe. Aiela got taken away by Darden of the Urali, this really big guy you have to fight and beat. The Urali shoot you with poisonous blow-darts until you kill Darden. You also have to get past a dinosaur to get to Aiela. And the whole thing takes place in secret caves, which you get to by talking to the turtle man and getting turtle food from him. All that for Aiela, but she loves you forever once you get her. This Savage Empire page describes Aiela best: "Aiela is a warrior princess who is supposed to be attractive and would be if it were still 1990."

Tristia
Tristia is Aiela's competition. She kind of scraggly and skinny, but hot in one of those "heroin chic" sullen supermodel ways. She's manipulative and unfaithful and doesn't love you. She just wants to make Aiela jealous. If you say the "f word" to her, she'll think you love her. Tristia loves to burn things. She kind of hot, but has an evil heart so she loses.

Aiela is the hottest girl in Eodon. She wins for having a kind heart and unconditional love. Also for that little Raquel Welsh outfit and heavy metal hairdo she sports when you rescue her from Darden.

What are the emeralds and diamonds for? You can buy things with them! You just have to know who to talk to, because not all people care about these stones. This one guy, Paxaptamac at Tichticatl will trade one emerald for 10 feathers if you ask him. (You get feathers by attacking parrots. Usually you get three feathers per bird, but sometimes more.) Kunawo, the Pindiro shaman trades with you, but only when you go as Triolo. Kunawo trades Triolo 1 yopo, 1 chocolatl, and 1 pinde for 5 flax. Getting flax is easy. All you do is Use a yucca plant.

The story of Savage Empire

The main character in all Ultima games is called the Avatar. You can name him a new name. We named the Avatar in Savage Empire "Matthew" in honor of our dad. Anyway, in Savage Empire, Matthew gets transported to the Valley of Eodon because his friend messed up a blackrock experiment in the previous game, Ultima VI (this one sucks compared to Savage Empire, btw) and sent him back in time. The Valley of Eodon is a weird tropical jungle island AKA a savage empire. It's sort of a mix between parts of ancient Africa and parts of ancient South America, depending where you go. There are thirteen tribes in total, and they're all at war with each other. Your job is to unite the tribes and get them to fight together against a race of mutant red ants called the Myrmidex. So the point of the game is to be a peacemaker and use your head. This is really the best game ever.

Every tribe gives you a mission because you have to prove yourself worthy for them to do what you ask and unite. You find out that the Savage Empire was created as a mash-up of all different parts of the ancient world because of this huge moonstone that got corrupted and has to be destroyed. Finally, Rafkin and the wisp tell you that it turns out that The Valley of Eodon is actually on earth.

Savage Empire is the Best Computer Game Ever!

Savage Empire was my favorite computer game as a kid. My brother, sister and I played off and on for three years without cheating and still didn't beat it. Finally, we got the internet and my brother looked up cheat codes and beat the game by uniting the tribes and defeating the Myrmidex.

Savage Empire is an RPG that was put out in 1990. Ultima games are usually set in Brittania, but Savage Empire is set in prehistoric time on an island (actually, the Valley of Eodon), so it's considered a "Worlds of Ultima" game.

Our avatar was always named "Matthew" and we played him by keyboard, never by mouse because our mouse was always sticking. Probably because we were kids and ate by the computer even through we totally weren't allowed to.
